Dear Festividder (and perhaps potential treatmaker):
HOCUS POCUS (MOVIES):
The sequel slaps. It's everything I really could have hoped for in a follow up to a formative childhood classic. I would love a vid for Hocus Pocus 2 or both together! Preferably Sanderson Sisters focused, though a general vid also works (all the kids and side characters in both movies are very much welcome). If doing a singular character-focused vid appeals, I adore Sarah Sanderson and SJP's completely unhinged performance and background antics. Anyway run amuck with this one and have fun! I'd love literally anything from this source.
FOR ALL MANKIND (TV):
Space! And women! So many fantastic women. Highly recommend this alternative history drama series on Apple TV+ if you've never seen it. Some of the most compelling character writing and intricate plotting on TV right now. A vid focusing on all the ladies would not go amiss, or a character study of one or more of my favs: Tracy Stevens, Karen Baldwin, or Danielle Poole. There's also just so! Much! Space! Drama! that would be so fun to compress into vid form. All space all the time!
STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE (ATTRACTION):
Bright Suns, Festividder! I'm a huge Disney Parks nerd, and I don't think I've ever seen a request for...theme parks/rides?? Though I could just not be very observant. Galaxy's Edge can be found in both Hollywood Studios in Florida and in Disneyland in California, and, much like it says on the tin, is Disney's "Star Wars Land." Galaxy's Edge features the planet Batuu, lots of delicious food, character appearances, lightsabers, Smuggler's Run (the Millennium Falcon ride) and Rise of the Resistance, one of my favorite new attractions in the parks. Would be so fun to have a vid celebrating/showcasing all the fun stuff that goes on here, for a little hit of the theme parks when I'm, you know, not there. Searching for Disney's Galaxy's Edge in YouTube will get you so much source, feel free to use whatever (can feature influencers/hosts, etc). Some good places to start might be these channels: Mammoth Club, Ordinary Adventures, DFB Guide, Paging Mr. Morrow, AllEars.net, Attractions 360, 4K WDW).
MAMMOTH CLUB (YOUTUBE CHANNEL):
Continuing from above, Mammoth Club is a YouTube channel/social media community around Walt Disney World and Universal Parks content. The main host, Molly, is super fun and someone you feel like you'd want to hang out with on vacation. Their channel started a couple months ago and has already amassed a big fanbase. I would love a vid showcasing all the fun stuff the hosts do as they go around the parks. Any material is fine, though feel free to skip Wizarding World content.
COLUMBO (TV):
Peter Falk! Vid Peter Falk and have the best time! There's so much Columbo source, it's true. I'd be happy with just a little Columbo-focused vid. Another idea might be to highlight all the big guest stars, so many guest stars (my only caveat there would be please leave out William Shatner. I'm not a fan of the dude.)
SHINING VALE (TV):
Underrated comedy horror gem on Starz (one season has aired, and it's renewed for season two). Influenced by The Shining, Courtney Cox plays a writer, Patricia, who's family moves into a house with some haunting issues, primarily that of Mira Sorvino playing a 1950s ghost, Rosemary, who more or less possesses Patricia and helps(?) write her latest novel. Dear bob, a Patricia/Rosemary vid, please and thank you. This is such a fun show and I'm not sure who all has watched it. Certainly not enough people.
ELVIS (2022, MOVIE) [SAFETY]:
Whew Austin Butler in this film. Alongside Baz Luhrmann's very Baz Luhrmann aesthetics, this movie feels like it would be a dream to vid. Compelling story, fantastic performance to highlight, and gorgeous visuals. If Butler isn't nominated for an Oscar, I'll eat my shoe.
STAR TREK: PICARD (TV):
My favorite of the new Treks. So much material to mine for vids here it's not even funny, and I would love all of it. My ship of ships right now is Seven/Raffi, a vid for them would be lovely. Any character study would not go amiss, particularly would love a Raffi-focused vid. And season two featured the surprising and very welcome bananas relationship between Agnes Jurati and the Borg Queen, complete with musical number and all. General team/family feels also never go amiss!
YELLOWJACKETS (TV):
High school girls soccer team lost in the woods for 18 months, and their adult counterparts played by the best of the best 1990s actresses you can find. Supernatural elements, cult stuff, maybe some cannibalism living alongside high school coming-of-age drama. It's the best. And visually fantastic for vidding. Go wild - I'd love anything for this show.
CATE BLANCHETT RPF:
What better way to celebrate Cate Blanchett winning another Oscar next year for Tár than to vid her various IRL appearances, the more out of control the better. No better place to start than the Ocean's 8 Press tour. TBH this whole vid could be the Ocean's 8 press tour.
*As far as any general notes, really anything goes. I'm easy to please, like most all music, and am fine with all content/material and vidding styles (though on that note, if going effects/dialogue heavy, I would love for them to be really integrated into the source/song/vid meaning/feeling/mood creation...basically trying to say I'm not a fan of tons of effects for just for the hell of it).
THANK YOU AND HAPPY FESTIVIDDING!
